After a bit of research I decided to buck the Assos trend here in South Africa and try something different. If you look about these shorts have toped the buyers polls in most magazines where they've featured and now owning a pair I can see why.
Love the material and support. No leg grippers, just very well engineered panels, great 'floating' chamois, decent bibs and the extra features make for a very good short that will stay with you all day.
Couple of 100km+ rides so far, really comfy and cool. Yup they are colourful but they do look good on and match my blue / white Giant TCR - tho that wasn't what made me buy them. ;)
ne of the best things about thee shorts is the 2 part chamois. Was a little sus' about it at first but works well and doesn't give you that 'nappy' feel that you can get from the bulk of the Assos kind.
I'm 5'9" with a 33 / 34 waist and the Large is a nice compressed fit.
Other shorts: Assos, Descente & Giordana.
Got these shorts as a back up pair for my Castelli Aero's. For the price the reviews I'd read were really good and when they arrived I wasn't disappointed at all. Top flight features inc great materials, no leg grippers, ipod pocket, different material for difference areas of the shorts make for a great daily rider which will also do a good 100km race.
Graphics look good but don't scream 'look at me', only minus would be that the bibs aren't that wide but never bothered me.
Chamois is quite thin but well designed and hasn't given me any issues at all. No rub, numbness or discomfort. In fact it just does what it's supposed to mile after mile.
I'm 5'9" and roll with a 33 / 34" waist. I got the larges and it is a nice compressed fit. Legs are quite long but I'm a fan of that riding in South African summer as they are UV proof.
Other shorts used: Castelli, Descente & Assos
