I bought this shirt for cooler weather riding (in Southern California, that means in the 60's F) but used it at 100's F and it keep me cooler and dryer than my other jerseys with front zipper thanks to the cleverly located mesh panel. Moreover, the material is sturdy enough to withstand brushes and branches.
Only negative point would be the "way-too-long" body lenght... I am 5'9" and the back is at least 7" too long!
This is my 3rd pair of Fox Sergeant mtb shorts. I tried other brands and styles but it seems that only fox can offer a stretchable heavy cotton fabric with a fit that can accomodate my big tights.
I just wish that Fox was more consistent with their sizes on ALL their products!
I really like the S.Cafe fabric. All the jersey that I am used to wear kinda smell after a ride. The Royal Racing Java fabric has excellent anti-microbial proprieties and wick well to keep you comfortable on the long rides.
I read many reviews saying that the Java fabric is not sturdy enough for XC riders but so far, my Royal Racing jerseys are all much better that anything I worn before. Moreover, the sizes are true and constant, something the Fox lack of...
First, Dakine size chart shows Medium size is for waist of 33" to 35", I am a true 34 on all my pants and short and I could not get in those.
The fabric does not stretch so, no extra room for adjustment.
Not sure that I would trust the fabric for these long epic rides.
