Picked up a Mixino to replace my broken Kompacto (saved my life), figure why deviate from catlike. The mixino has great style, fits well, seems to be pretty adjustable. Not as aero as some other options but keeps my melon cool even with the crazy heat we've had over the last week. Glasses tuck away in the vents very nicely. Perhaps a bit expensive but I ride enough I can justify it.

Bought a TT bike with Vision super aero levers that felt like trying to use knife blades to stop with way to narrow to put good stopping pressure down.picked these up and I'm very happy with the updated build.

Definitely a fast helmet, great for fast flat races. The few times I've ridden with it in the heat it has been fine, with the exception of slowing down for climbs, ugh. This is the Achilles heel of this helmet otherwise it would be a great all around. if you spend allot of time going uphill in the heat swap for another lid. I picked up a better vented helmet for training and hilly races and will save this for cooler rides and flatter races.

The fit is great, feels very secure and is easily adjustable.

1 tube is right for mounting 1 tire, usually get a couple coats on both the tire and wheel. Use a sandwich bag and spread it with my finger in place of a brush seems to get a better coating without wasting so much to the brush.

Fantastic little multi tool. Covers the bases without bringing the whole workshop on the road with you, anything you cant work on with this is probably best saved for working on in the shop anyways. Ditch your tire levers since they are built into the tool, helps keep your repair kit minimal whether in your pocket or in your saddle bag.

Spent some time early in the spring looking at camera's opted for the Virb. Mostly based on reviews praising its user friendly features. It does lack in some of the very high frame rate settings forcing you to a lower resolution picture but otherwise does the trick.

Download Virb Edit, Garmin's free video editing software, its getting constant upgrades as user's give feedback on what they want out of the software and find bugs here and there. The big driver for getting garmins software is the ability to import and overlay your ride data from say your edge device so that you can see your ride metrics right on screen and give some perspective to the ride. I'm looking forward to re-watching some of my races while on the trainer this winter.

I did take a nasty spill in a crit, beyond my road rash the camera took the brunt of the impact and came out with only a slight mark on the lens, picked up a replacement and swapped it out no problem. Surprised at just how thick the lens was and kept the old one as a backup just in case.

I've been using my edge 500 for 4 years and have recorded over 20k trouble free miles, with the occasional exception of when I forget to turn it off.

After 4 years the only issue I have encountered has been recently the screen has become a little foggy from moisture getting inside, possibly to be expected after 4 years.

With the new models having been released I'm hoping the 500 stays around for awhile. If I'm forced to upgrade I'm note sure which model I will have to go with.

Great idea's for on the bike nutrition thats easy to eat and digest, love it.

Who would have known that cream cheese, prosciutto and jelly would go so well together and be just what you need to keep from bonking on a long hard ride, so good. Try it.

The intro is fantastic with great nutrition/hydration advice to get your season in order.

Fantastic book with great nutrition info beyond just the recipes. If you don't cook and don't plan on cooking this may not be for you, but go borrow it from a friend and read the first couple chapters before the recipes.

Fig and Honey Rice Cakes, awesome!
Rice Pudding, yes please.
Crispy Rice Omelet, I'll take one of those as well...(you'll need to get the portables companion book for this one though)

Just got these, tried them out in low 40's with wool socks and my feet were happy. Time will tell how well they hold up. There is a hole for your cleat but nothing for the heal pad so I suspect that is where they may begin coming apart first. I may cut a hole and melt the edges to stave off this breakdown.

Absolutely love the dark chocolate nuts and sea salt, these have been added to my assortment of recovery bars, maybe not a typical recovery bar due to the lack of protein but makes a great carb and fat source to go along with a high protein bar. Great as a snack to.

I like to keep an assortment of bars available in my gear bag so I have some recovery options after races or long rides when I cant get a proper recovery shake, like after a Tuesday night club race after a long work day. No way a milk based shake is going to make it that long, but 1-2 bars does the trick and gets the nutrients needed into your body during those crucial minutes right after finishing a workout when it is so important to refuel.

You could get a gel flask and make your own gels, experiment with maple syrup etc. Or you could get these, prepacked=preportioned=easy I usually have 2 gels in my pocket for any ride, more on longer rides. I prefer gels for races just because they are the easiest for me to eat 1 handed. Usually the last thing eaten on long training rides as the banana's go first then any waffles or other real food. But when you hit the wall and need quick energy now these are #1.

Before I tried Clif's Hydration mix my performance suffered, I've tried several mixes and the only thing that seems to work for me is the clif drink mix, I was hesitant to try the new formula and instead stockpiled as many tubs as I could get my hands on, well now that the tubs are no longer available I've had to bite the bullet and try the new formula. I was previously mixing approx 2 scoops/24oz bottle, less than 2 scoops and the flavor was off like just drinking pink water, with the new formula I can run 1-1.5 scoops per bottle(right in line with allen lims carb/oz sugestions) while still having some flavor.

I'll be putting off my previous plans of blending my own drink.
