Here's what others have to say...

I got this bike because the price point allowed me to to experience mountain bike riding. I hate the idea of thrashing someone else's things. This has been great for me, and it didn't take me long to realise I really enjoy off-road riding. It is a bullet-proof MTB, and I have thrashed this thing as hard as I could. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone thinking about trying mountain biking. It weighs a ton, but with that weight comes durability; perfect for entry-level. It looks great, and the price is impossible to beat. X7 and X9 combo, with no front derailleur to worry about, and nice brakes and fork. I have raced it too, no worries.

These are my favourite sunnies. I often forget I am wearing them. That's usually the defining point for me. Full vision coverage, and sharp lens to look through. Great colour options available too. Stand up well to a flogging too!

We were looking for a fork mount roof carrier system to fit our Forester factory roof racks, and ended up going for these. They are the best roof racks I have used. They lock the bikes, there is a cut out for disc brakes if you're a MTB'er, they look great, and they are really easy to use. I can't say much more, but these are the best product I've bought this year.

I bought this to complete my wife's townie. Her bike is already cool as, but when I saw this, I had to buy it. Super cool, and looks great. The inside of the holder has a nice foam lining to give extra grip on the portable coffee mug, and also to prevent any scratches on it too. I'm a big fan and so is she.

Hi JP Madden,
A cyclocross bike is going to be a pretty good option for your weight. A mountain bike will be even better. The cross bike will give you a similar set up to a road bike, just being a robust version of a road bike, essentially.
If you want to stick with a road bike, you can add to its strength by having a strong, heavy set of wheels to go with it.

I bought this last month to monitor my heart rate while training for Tour of Utah. It is the most basic heart rate monitor available here, but that was all I wanted it for. It never missed a beat the whole time I was wearing it! For the basic means I was looking for, this is the perfect heart rate monitor, and I am already planning on using it cross training in the off-season too.

I think it will be a good starting point Randy. The price is very good, and if it turns out you get a lot of enjoyment out of cyclo cross racing, then you can easily upgrade to a high-end model. I think this will be robust enough for you to get a real feel for the racing.

Perfect for one thing for me; using a front road wheel on my track bike. My friend has the same thing, he has three wheels (a track hub rear, road hub rear, and one front to use for the road and track). It is a great little money saver.

As with all Louis Garneau clothing, this jersey is going to be a fantastic addition to your cycling wardrobe. It has a great cut, and super comfortable material. It is a replica of our RealCyclist.com Pro Team jersey. The only difference is probably the white zip as opposed to our black one. The pockets are a great size and easily accessible, and of course, you will be styling in the coolest looking team jersey of season 2011!
