I asked my cycling experts with many years of road cycling experience, what is the ONE thing that I can do to my bike a 2012 Specialized Roubaix to make the biggest performance impact?
Replace the wheels with Mavic Ksyrium Elites! So I did!
What an AMAZING difference it makes!! The ability to accelerate, gain speed and maintain speed is the biggest thing. It helps immensely climbing hills, due to the wheels being so light and stiff. When cornering, the wheel turns crisply and sharply compared to the original wheels. You can carve a turn confidently. The ride quality is excellent, even the though the wheel is stiffer, it rides as smooth as the original wheels. I am Super Pumped with these wheels!
I ride 50+ miles 2x a week in the Pacific Northwest. Have used this cap in 30 deg. up through 60 dg. it works great! My head and ears stay warm. I have worn it the rain without a helmet cover, and my head was still dry. It wicks away sweat very effectively, so my head stays warm, which means my core stays warm. The styling is very stylish!
Fantastic! leg warmers. They stay up after 83 mile ride. They absolutely block the wind and wick sweat very well!
It is so true you get what you pay for in quality, fit and fabric. This jersey has a super smooth feel and finish of the fabric. It is soft on your skin. The fit is "race fit", which makes it perform superbly wicking away sweat, as it sits close on your skin allowing the high tech fabric to work as designed. Love this jersey!!
I have tried multiple rain jackets for here the Seattle Rain Zone, and THIS is by far the very best rain jacket. It is extremely comfortable, it breathes, is excellent in the wind. I have been hailed on, rained on Dumped on and still stayed dry. The temps I have used this jacket range from 35 deg. to 50 deg., I wear Under Armour Heat gear at 50 deg. and Cold gear at 35 deg. under the jacket and a short sleeve jersey. I ride 40-60 miles and would highly recommend this jacket. A gal in our ride group saw me in it 2 weeks ago, asked about it and today she was wearing a Red/White Protezione Jacket!
I have been using these bib tights in 35 deg., rainy weather, and they are Superb! The cover over your knee keeps your knees warm, and they are Absolutely Waterproof. I have used them in 50 deg. windy conditions, no wind gets through and at all temps they have excellent wicking, so your legs do not get cold and sweat wet. I am Super Pumped with these tights! I wear Specialized BG RBX Chamios shorts under them.
I have FINALLY found a shoe cover that actually keeps my toes from going numb in the cold winter rides here in WA State. Temps 35 deg. windy 18 mph, my feet and especially my toes stayed warm on a 15 mile ride. The fit is excellent. I wear a 47 road bike shoe, got XXL fits perfect.
