Here's what others have to say...

Chamois is multi density/thickness foam with an absorbent fabric cover. Foam is articulated at the narrow end and at other key points to enable the chamois to curve to fit your particular anatomy. Chamois is NOT as thick as some I've used but it protects as well as you HOPE it will and it is very comfortable. Thicker at the ischial tuberosities--sit bones--and thinner at the wings where protection isn't as critical. You can go to the Giordana web page for more tech details.

Bought one pair and liked them enough i bought another. Fit is snug on my X:L size at 6 ft and about 200 lbs. The fit is designed to be at its best on the bike not while standing at the kitchen sink. Bib straps are long enough let you stand straight and are snug without restricting movement and though they are narrow they are comfortable on the bike. These are not compression shorts but the fit and material are supportive. Chamois is one of the best I've ever tried and my cycling short history goes back to the real leather chamois lining in shorts. Not too thick and good shape to fit saddle compression points well.
