Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this shoe for trail running and hiking. It's a great, light weight shoe that fits my foot well. The only reason I haven't given this shoe 5 stars is because I usually run in the Salomon Speedcross and prefer the heavy duty tread.

As with all my Salomon running shoes, I usually size down a 1/2 size or order off of the European sizing.

These are hands down my favorite shorts. From the inseam, to the waistband, to the chamois, the Shorty Shorts keep me happy whether I'm commuting or mountain biking. They are comfy even after a 3 hour ride After touring with just two pairs of shorts for 5 weeks in Europe last year, the Sugoi Chamois was still going strong, while my Pearl Izumi Chamois had disintegrated into two layers of lycra with no padding. The Short Shorts are the winner!

I've had these tires for a week, in that week, we've ridden slippy roots in Crested Butte, loose sand and dirt two days later, slick rock, and the hard pack single track of Salt Lake City. These tires held up against it all. I would definitely recommend them!
However, I also agree with Dave Beyers comment, they were really tight on my rims, and took a serious battle for me to get them on. Let's just hope I don't end up on a ride with multiple flats, that could get a little frustrating!

I may be a little behind the times, and by I little, I may mean a lot. I've been riding with v - brakes, 4, maybe five times a week? I just switched and o baby, is it a whole new world. The terror I felt in technical sections where it was either balls out or walk is now gone, as I can gently pump my Avid brakes and ease my way through the rocks in complete control. They work when I need them, the way I need them (unless my panic stricken fingers squeeze a little bit too hard). I have had some difficulty setting them up so they don't rub on my tire, but nothing that a little bit of negotiating can't fix!

I was pumped to ride this lime green, merino jersey for the extra long rides in Crested Butte. Not only is the lime green simply awesome, but the merino wool would hold the BO at bay during the long, hard climbs at 9,000+ feet. Sadly, this top runs a little small. I am a 36 around the chest and ordered the medium. While it fit well around the chest area, it was a little short in length. I had no room to put my arms above my head and keep my belly button hidden. I'm returning it and trying a large.

I love the shorter inseam on the Sugar Shorts. The shorter the legs the shorter the shorts, right? However, the chamois doesn't hold up on longer rides, and I found that the elasticity started to fade quickly in the back of the shorts. Plus, no one wants their chamois to get hung up on the saddle after getting out of the saddle to make it up the hill.

The Sugoi RSE shorts are the most comfortable shorts I've ever worn. While they are a tad bit longer than what I normally wear (I'm 5'2" and usually go for the "shorty" shorts) the chamois is the best I've ever come across. After 5 hours in the saddle, my butt isn't begging me for a break, and the next day, I'm ready to hit the trail again. Plus, the chamois doesn't get caught on the saddle when trying to reposition myself back on the saddle after a quick climb standing up, which is always nice!
