My first pair of MTB shoes for flat pedals. I rode SPD for 15 years before converting to flats for my all mtn Giant Reign. At first I rode in a pair of crosstrainers, as that was all I had. These shoes were more comfortable on my foot than five tens. After two months of use, they show no wear marks and are still super comfy. I always notice after a long ride that SPD race shoe wearers tke their shoes off for sandals or normal shoes. With the Tevas, this does not cross my mind, as they never hurt my feet. You will get less foot bruising on HAB also. These shoes have a slight stiffener in the forefoot area that normal sneakers or skate shoes dont. Just enough to take the bite out of your pedals for long rides.
