I've got a rather different review for an elbow guard type of PPE. My doc recommended I get a hard shell elbow guard (suggested at a mtn.bike shop) to protect and help heal my elbow bursitis. So I'm buying a specialized PPE for an injury I already have. I always did do things backwards.
After looking all over town, a friend suggested I check out Backcountry.com. I have to admit I was a little intimidated with the variety of selections from an internet provider, but finding out I could try out all that I wanted to before making my purchase at the store was a great relief.
I tried out 7 different pad designs from what looked to be the top 5 in the shopping list, and found these Troy Lee's to be the most comfortable on my already sore wing. I was disappointed that they only went to a Large size (recommended for a person of up to 220 lbs) and I really need an XL for my larger arm diameter, so they fit tight enough I can't keep them on for more than about an hour without a break. But unlike all the rest, once it is on, I don't feel any pressure on my elbow at all, until it hits something, and then the force is well enough distributed it isn't the sharp pain it was without the protection. Muchas Thanx for the GREAT service at your SLC store. You've managed to whet my appetite for more "toys" as well.
