Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am a roadie from WI. Love everything about cycling especially the equipment. Not many sports have as much great technology along with all the different takes on said technology. I would consider myself an avid biker. I'm not knockin' out 300 miles a week but I'm doing more than 100. I read the reviews on these tires and honestly at first thought, "I'm sure the performance is fine, Hell... I liked the vintage look that is coming back(Or maybe never left). I have 7 bikes and on those bikes I have had numerous tire sets. Conti GP 4000s, Michelin Pro 4, S-Works Turbo, etc. All great tires. So as I was reading some of the reviews of the Vittoria's I thought, "Really? These people can get all those "Takes/reviews/thoughts" from a tire set.?.? Really? Yes. After a few short rides and one long roll I am convinced these are the best tires I've been on. It's tough to describe other than they just feel great on the road. I'm amazed at how well some reviewers can articulate their words into the feeling of the products. I wish I could do a better job at it because these tires deserve it.

I was a little leary of this being as good as everyone said it was, but I must say it does the job. I am unbelievably impressed at how it detects the number of cars behind you. Suggestion for the user: Buy a K Edge or some type of mount that gets your Garmin out in front of the bars as you tend to look at your Garmin more (queue the Varia Vision plug here). Suggestion for Garmin: the rubber band that comes with the piece seemed to stretch out right away. It still works however; I liked the feel and grip better the first time I put it on my bike.

That's all I've heard for years.......Assos is #1 in everything, blah, blah. Too expensive.......Not at all. Best bibs I've ever bought. Unreal. First time I rode them I put on 65 miles and everything was perfect. They truly are perfect. Here was the only hard decision. I'm a bigger biker. 6'2" - 225#. Big legs, not fat but not a 6 pack either. If I went by the size guide (And I did) I should be in the XLG's. Sooo, I tried the XLG's and they were very tight. Once I got them on they felt pretty good. Tight but good. Due to the size the legs were almost like compression shorts. Felt good. I just didn't think it was perfect. Soooo, went to the "Sears Husky" size and bought the TIR. Fit much better but I gotta tell ya, I did like the tighter compression feel of the smaller one. Wish there was an Assos Rep standing next to me to say Ya or Na. Highly Recommend.

I got a good end of season deal on these and used them in a Duathlon relay. Overall they worked great. One thing that I have noticed on Castelli stuff lately is that the logo starts to crack and peel off. Hate that. However the performance is still good. I have big legs and I used a XL. Fit was great.

Happy..... Try these cables. I have the new Sram RED yaw 10 speed. The OEM cables just didn't do it OR it just didn't shift as smooth for a top O' the line grouppo. Try the new cables and made a huge difference. Huge. I did a lot of research and in all my findings the result was the same. These cables seem to be made for Sram. This is a awesome and cheap way to change the performance and feel of your bike.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Used the tires in a 90 road race and ended up with a pinch flat going over RR tracks. Other than that they have been great tires. I did buy the Michelin Pro4 Service Course for the 2014 season and will be trying them. The Mavic's are light and look great on my cosmic carbone's however they do wear fairly quickly. Great Crit tire.
