Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Do very well with wide feet. I have large and wide feet, and these shoes seem to be more comfortable out of the box than any other trail running shoes I have tried(Brooks, New Balance). Those shoes did well, but were not as immediately comfortable as the Salomon’s. The sole is very wide at the heal and forefoot, providing great stability, I use these as my primary backpacking/hiking shoe. I also like the quick lace system, no laces wearing out or becoming untied.

Have been riding this helmet for 6 or so rides. Previously was using more of an XC type helmet. Bell Super 2 MIPS, felt as though was vented as well as the XC helmet, but it is noticeably heavier. Not heavy per say, but heavier. I think I will quickly acclimate to this helmets more weight, which is a trade-off for the definite feel of more coverage/protection. In general Giro brands have never fit my head as well as Bell and/or UVEX have in the past. This fit well on my head as well.

The adjustment is quick and easy, visor is bigger than past helmets, but actually like the added shade for my face.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great all around tire. Slight more spacing than the Trail Kings which I have previously ridden and liked. Running the 2.4s on a wider 25 mm internal rim, and like how the round profile gives a very consistent feel to the ride. The transition as the bike lays over is predictable, I prefer this over the more square edged tires(Maxxis HR2), but that is generally personal preference. For a 2.4 tire doesn’t feel sluggish getting up to speed, but good traction at speed on hard pack, and confidence inspiring on Technical decents.

I will start with the down, they are VERY spendy, and you can get really good wheels for significantly less. But the ride of these is amazing. The lack of flex while corning is unmatched. As a large rider(6’ plus and over 200#) the cornering and handling with these wheels always leaves a smile on your face. I didn’t realize how well they performed until I was w/o the rear wheel for a few rides, and the drop was fairly dramatic to a WTB Freq. 23.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This bike has been amazing. While it was spendy, and people tend to give anything they spend that amount of money glowing reviews, this bike deserves it. While not a climbing goat, pun intended, if you are worried about your time getting up this was not the right bike for you in the first place. However, if you want to ride your bike everywhere, and are concerned with how big your smile is after the ride, especially the descents, this may be the bike for you. I am 6?4? and the XL fits great, comfortable to climb, yet nimble on the descents. The 27.5 wheels do feel the ideal blend, great rolling over behavior, but super quick and agile on the descents, technical or flowy with features. I ride it mostly in Park City, and would be more than happy with this bike anyplace in town, long XC rides to bike parks(moderate)
