Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I put the 11-28 on to my SRAM Red 2011 version. I also upgraded the derailleur and chain all to the 2012. So far, I am thrilled. They really meant it when they said it's quiet. Now when I ride with my riding buddy, I can complain about his clanking spoke that he is too lazy to fix. Before, I was probably the one making most of the noise. Other riders have also commented on how surprisingly quiet I am compared to what they are used to with SRAM. Even though I have a 2011/2012 setup of complete SRAM Red, everything rides incredibly smoothly. I have had no issues and rode most of the summer with the new setup. In fact, I have often thought the ride seems even smoother. Not sure if it was just the noise before that made me think I wasn't as smooth as other riders. I never even considered switching from SRAM though so I have always been quite happy with this brand. I am more than pleased though they made this very nice upgrade.
