Nice shorts, nice liner, but the shorts ran about a size larger that my usual size. I'm 6'0", about 170-175 lbs. (depending on amount of, or lack of, riding) and ordered a Large but would need a Medium for the shell. The liner felt great, better than most combination MTB shorts, but not sure how well the liner would fit if I ordered the Medium shorts. I think I'll just stick with wearing my beat up road shorts and buy MTB shorts that fit (yeah, part time roadie but don't hold that against me!).
This short has an interesting combination of technical fabrics and suspect these would be great in very hot conditions due to the wicking and perforated fabrics. However, I prefer a higher rise in the waste, slightly heavier fabric, and I'm not sure how well they would hold up to overgrown thorn bushes and branches on the trails out here in eastern PA, so back they go.
I purchased a Fox Baseline Jersey last year, really liked the fit and material, so jumped at the chance to get another in a different color this Sept 2012. I'm not sure why Fox kept the name 'Baseline Jersey' since the fabric is very different, paper thin with no body to it, the fit felt much larger but I think this was due to the thin material, and the neckline was wider which might be a plus for guys with really wide necks but this didn't work for me. Jersey will be going back.
