Great, light, fitted jersey. Wore it in 98 degree weather and felt cooler than usual. Only complaint (and this applies to all the Alpinestar jerseys I own) is the microscopic rear zipper. With gloves on and (god forbid) while moving, it's a nightmare to fumble with. Something with more substance would be greatly appreciated.
Otherwise, great jersey so far- would buy another. I like the trimmer fit over the similarly priced Alpinestar Drop jersey.
This came equipped on my Yeti and I was initially wary of using a carbon bar as I tend to ride pretty rough: hitting kickers, drops and hopping over things unnecessarily. While I can't recommend it for freeride or extreme all-mountain (for lack of experience with it there) I can say it has held up extremely well under my own personal abuse.
Days ago I cut them narrower, which proved to be a mistake (took a little too much off) and found myself looking for a new bar. After deliberating between this and the Crank Bro's Cobalt 11's, I've decided to order a second set - if that says anything about these bars.
I own the Sidi Genius 5's for road riding, so when I was looking for a quality mountain shoe I knew where to turn. Durable ratchet system allows you to dial in the comfort and the velcro straps stay put. Sole is super stiff (almost too much so for my taste) and really allows you to stomp power through the cranks.
I was worried about the glossy finish turning to crap after a few rides or spills, but that hasn't been the case. They've already been put through hell in the few weeks I've owned and still look great. They could probably benefit from a more comfortable set of insoles though - but are otherwise great right out of the box.
I use them with Crankbrothers Candy 3's with no issues.
Stoutly built and easy to handle the bike in and out of. Was quick and simple to put together as well and came with the necessary tools to do so (should you not have that stuff lying around).
The long base legs can kind of get in the way depending on what you're doing but it's definitely not a deal breaker.
One of the cleanest clamps I've run across. Long lever gives you enough leverage to open and close the piece with ease, big logo and assortment of colors lets you get all frilly with your bikes color scheme - or not!
Works like a charm on my 2011 Yeti ASR5C.
This jersey is a steal on sale. Thick, high-quality fabric. Spacious but not baggy. Zippered back pocket. Adequately ventilated and nicely designed all-around.
Would definitely buy again.
These sunglasses are great for almost every active endeavor. I really enjoy essentially having half a dozen pairs of sunglasses in my arsenal.
My only gripe is how easily the frame seems to unlock from the lens after a few weeks of use. At first you had to put a little effort into snapping them into place, now they slide in - and out - effortlessly, a fact that has seen me fumbling to catch the pieces as it fell apart on me mid-stride after moving them from the top of my head back down to my face.
Otherwise great glasses, though.
