These are excellent dynamic tires, but the weight makes them slightly prone to damage on the sidewalls. Nonetheless, I love the black chili compound and the 25mm width is great for rougher UT roads.
Best functionality in a high end MTB brake that I have ever ridden, but with some reliability shortcomings.
I have ridden all kinds of Avid, Magura, Hope and Shimano brakes, and these are far and away the best Ive ridden. The lever size (small - 1 finger braking) is perfect and the modulation is top notch. Paired with the ice-tech rotors and I have done some serious descents with them (off the passes here in PC and Jackson) and not had any over heating, fading or squeeling. EAT THAT AVIDS.
One problem popped up however with the hose at the crimp for the banjo bolt into the caliper. On my first set, both the front and rears began to leak fluid, which in turn flowed down onto the pads. Riding the ribbon in Grand junction with no front brake was not awesome. Alas, they have a lifetime warranty and within a week, they fixed me up and i havent had issues since. It sounded like a common problem for the early releases that has now been addressed.
I've been searching around for the right shoulder season jacket to keep me riding a bit further into the fall and earlier in the spring out here in Utah. The tough part for me was finding something that would work for MTB, road cycling as well as any other aerobic outdoor exercises. Personally, I think that this jacket was the perfect find.
The zip off sleeves make it super versatile for road and mtb. There are two zips per sleeve, so it is a bit of a task to get them back on, but nothing seriously bad. The windproofing of Gore is top notch, and though I haven't been out with it in a full down pour, the water beads right up and runs off in the slight shower it has been in. Oh, and the breathability is excellent, hasn't felt muggy or sticky at all.
NOTE, I am 5'8 and about 155lbs and the large fit me well for what I was looking for (not ultra slim, since I would be MTB in it). I can put a long sleeve base layer under it, but not much more, so I dont think I would have gone with a Med. Hope that helps...
