We bought these for our canoe and they work to perfection. However I've used them more for other things like lumber, luggage and christmas trees. Cinch them down and they stay snug, essential for strapping stuff down to the roof, especially since I don't own a truck.
I love these socks for riding in the summer. As long as you don't require any padding these are great for keeping your feet cool when it's hot.
Extremely light means they wear out very quickly. I ended up getting about 300 to 350 miles out of these before they were to thin to continue racing. High price per mile IMO.
I used these in my Montrail Vitesse and Continental Divide trail running shoes but didn't notice much difference at all. These shoes are already pretty stiff. In the softer Brooks Cascadias I noticed an immediate difference. My feet were not as sore after a trail run, they provided extra protection and of course support. So depending on the shoe they're going in they do exactly what they're supposed to. Dinged it a star for the price.
I use the arm skins for riding and running. Unlike other types of lycra arm warmers the defeets are held up on your arms by a tighter stitch at the top instead some type of rubber. After two years of use and multiple washings they are still holding up just as well as the day I go them.
