I have successfully packed a disc. (My friend borrowed my case for las vegas). But I forget how we did it- I think we just layered it behind a regular wheel so it would stay in place.

Ok, so I've had this rack since August '09 (2.5 years) and I have had no problems with it. I've driven from NY-TX, TX-FL (2x!) and loads of 2-hr drives with my bikes. I'm 5'9 (and female) and I can haul my bikes on my roof of my SUV by myself- the side arm is really quick to put on and adjust quickly.
Popping the rack off and on my car is a breeze (after the first few attempts to get the hang of it). I do suggest getting a bike lock and locking your bike frame down to the roof rack as extra security. No bike rack is theft proof...(but I haven't had a problem yet)
It holds my hybrid, roadie, and 29'er hardtail perfectly!
