I can appreciate the quality of all pearl Izumi gear however, I would have appreciated it if I were told that this comes with a pony tail slot in the rear for women. I was looking for a completely solid under helmet cap. I would not have bought it if I would have known that. ultimately I ended up giving it to my girl (she likes it) and buying different one.
You are only paying for the name on this headband, it just barely kept my ears warm on a low 60 degree early morning ride. For the quality of the item I could see paying 10 dollars for it but not 20.
Does anyone know if this jacket runs small? I have bought two jackets so far that I had to return because of the extra tight fit. Let me know, thanks!
I returned a 2x Gore cold weather for this jacket in a 3x and this jacket is actually smaller than the Gore Jacket. It would have been really helpful for the customer service gear heads to be aware of the sizing of their "gear" to be able to say "this Jacket won't fit either because it runs smaller than...". Bummed. My cold weather rides depends on a good 3x cold weather jacket. I am sick and tired of the back and forth!
Great quality, comfort and feel. This gloves doesn't cause your hands to over heat and they are laden with reflective features that are so very important to any low light and evening riding. The gel pads are simply priceless. I love the idea of making one compartment for the ring and pinky fingers (awesome). I would not hesitate to buy a pair of these gloves if I were you.
These tights are comfortable to a point and that is only because of the liner. The down side is that the moisture build up did not wick away as claimed, moisture literally sat on my skin. The temperature of the ride was 57 degrees and the distance traveled was 52 miles. The seam work on these did not feel as comfortable as my Thermal Pearl Izumi's (though these were about 20 bucks cheaper). On a cool ride it is always great to have tights but when you put out the necessary effort to go 52 miles you really need a product that will match your efforts and remove that sweat build up to keep you warm and comfortable for the entire ride. After the first 20 miles I had a chill that would not leave. Lastly, the lack of adequate reflectivity makes for dangerous biking, Buyer beware.
I ordered this jacket with high hopes of continuing on to my self imposed 3 month/1000 mile road (I am not a pro) challenge finale (134 miles shy) but was shut down due to the extra tight fit of the XXL Gore Countdown jacket. The jacket was not just too small but it was an immediate heater without adequate ventilation. I did not have any doubts about the great construction of the jacket but it would have been very difficult (even it fit) to ride my average 40 miler with this without becoming soaked early on in my ride and trying not to freeze to death in the routes' later portion. It felt like a sauna suit top. (You can always judge for yourself). I sent it back for an exchange. Oh by the way, the customer service team member (via chat) was top notch and very supportive and helpful!
