What is the thickness of the sole at the cleat interface? I see the DMT states their carbon sole is 3.5mm thick at the cleat interface getting your foot even closer to the pedal.
Sidi, what's your's?
Are the heel pads replaceable?
I notice that this one reads 'tight' however it shows a knicker and states is has 'ankle zip'. Please review and correct listing as needed. Thanks Team!
Very light, grippy and not too thick. Few guys at the shop have purchased after seeing mine. It's flat/matte black and with 830 (dry) miles on it, still looks good. Can't attest to wet weather performance as I haven't been caught in the rain.
I wear a TRUE US 10 as measured on the nice little scale they use at most shoe stores and with this in mind I went against the size chart and ordered a MEDIUM and it fits perfect. The heel hits my heel as it should, no bunching around the toes and the height of the sock is just right although longer than what I'm normally sporting its definately not too long.
Buy it, you'll like it.
What's the length of this pump?
what is the offset? pic look like 15mm, description reads 0mm.
what is the weight of the 27.2 x 350mm?
What are the dimensions?
I can take this jacket from low 50s to low 30s with the right base. Windstopper works much better than anticipated. Sizing is good, don't let the 'european race' in the description fool you, it's the same as slim fits used to describe other items from Castelli.
If you can stop the wind from getting to your chest, and even more importantly your arms you can have much better rides, this jacket will allow that. Not bulky, fairly light, comfortable, stylish, I say get it.
Specialized, Pearl Izumi I wear everything in Medium. Castelli is a hard one to fit. Anything with a full zipper I'm a Large even though their quite a lot tighter in the shoulder/armpits. Large b/c of the loose material around the waist/stomach is obscene on an XL (w/ full zip). I bought this jersey from LBS in XL and it's still very tight in the pits and shoulders but the length and fit around torso is the best!
For this jersey, unless you like SUPER tight I would size up two (yes two) from your normal US brand sizes. Trust me. I have many many jerseys/knickers/bibs/shorts etc from many makers and I obsess over fit...what good is an aero bike if you're pulling a parachute, eh?
Like this jersey a lot after I got the fit dialed-in. Only thing that would make it better is a full zip making it easier to remove.
DO NOT take this in the woods for MTB....when it gets close to a tree I can feel it get tighter and try to run away! What I mean to say is that it snags, a lot and VERY easily - ROAD only on this one unless you're going for the tattered jersey look or have time to pull all the snags through the material (which is what I did while watching the last TDF).
Hey RealCyclist....any plans to release more in-house designed kit for 2011?
I'm buyin' if you're makin'!
I'm 6' w/ 35" inseam, 175lbs bare w/ 31" waist.
I did size medium and they're rather snug on my thighs (but I like the compression). Straps fit my shoulders just right but the leg length is off. Seems like my legs are too long and the bottoms ride up to just below my knees at the thinnest part of my upper leg and they gap a bit. Perhaps I should have tried these in a large, but in doing so it seems the crotch would be a problem as I use these for MTB too and need to worry about saddle snag.
They are windproof, that's for sure and that's exactly what I wanted/needed so they do get the job done.
Be warned: I thought my seatpost was bending or my frame was in trouble when I first rode this on MTB - the pad is VERY thick and creates an interesting feeling when on the saddle. I'm normally riding thinner seat pads for better saddle feel, this one will not allow the best feedback from your bike, it'll mute the feedback and like others may agree, this is not always best.
FIT: not quite European, not quite American so maybe buy your normal US size and 1 size larger then return the least favorite.
I really like these booties. Fit true to size, easy to use (remove/put on) and kept me completely warm at 32F during a nighttime road ride. I wore thin summer sock w/ my Sidi carbon sole shoes and feel that this setup will be good for me down to 10F. I normally get cold feet first which will occasionally end my ride early - I don't think I'll have that problem moving forward.
I recommend - get 'em!
Are these windproof?
Can you tell me if the windstopper travels beyond the chest and into the sleeves?
It's amazing how few jackets have windstopper in the sleeves, the one place where it's needed the most.
Took 4th place along with two crashes all the dirt wiped off w/ soap & water, tough fabric for sure.
Purchased XL as I'm 174lbs at 6' - thicker chest, low body fat (flat stomach) and while the shoulders were very snug, arms were snug, in fact perfect for aero riding - the zipper allowed for waaaay too much puckering and drooping - looked very un-pro.
I tried the Large at the local shop but the shoulders and arms were uncomfortably tight - the stomach looked a little better and the shorter length was nice but still just a bit long and too much extra fabric.
Standing the L looked good at the gut, but roadbike position left folds due to loose torso and being long.
