I only used this once but these is one of castelli's better designs. Great for fall and late winter/early spring. It would be good for most types of rain you'd actually be riding in, but not very heavy rain because the seems are not taped.
Decent jersey, best design feature is its high rear neck line to keep the sun of the back of your neck, a great feature. Race fit but without being too tight around the shoulders for those who actually have some upper body.
Traction is the first thing you notice with this shoe, they shine on rocky single track and on turf. They provide a lot of stability for a neutral shoe and the front end surprisingly offers enough protection. These are definately for narrow feet and I sized up 0.5 a size from my other Salomon shoes. Only downside is the weight vs. a true race shoe, but then for the extra weight you do get a lot.
With Castelli you're good if you go for their high end line, otherwise its fairly average at best. This was baggy around the pocket area so if you have anything in there is sags down. In Europe they have a brand called sportful which costs half as much, I would say this is about at that level.
