Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

FYI these work in SLX, XT, as well as XTR brakes. Not sure if the cooling fins are noticeable due to a placebo effect or not but they do seem better than the stock pads that came in my XT brakes as far as keeping brake fade down. I wish they lasted longer but I've said that about ever set of pads I've ever bought for any brakes. They are also the most quiet pads I've ever used.

Ive been riding with a DH casing up front for a while now and finally Maxxis offered something in between the exo and the dh. This thing is great, a little on the heavier side than the exo but you get the extra insurance that goes with it. Same great DHF.

I tried many different versions of lock ons and finally settled on these. They don't blister your hands due to lack of logos on them, have great grip with or without gloves, (pretty sticky even with sweaty hands) and are a little thicker than the peaty lock ons which I used previously. I also found they don't wear our as fast since they are a little thicker.
