Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My only gripe is that it feels a bit harder to shift vs the old version without the clutch. That I guess it to be expected being that there is more tension, it's not a problem shifter but it just doesn't feel quite as easy as the old version. But the ability to keep the chain on totally outweighs that issue so get on today!

FYI these work in SLX, XT, as well as XTR brakes. Not sure if the cooling fins are noticeable due to a placebo effect or not but they do seem better than the stock pads that came in my XT brakes as far as keeping brake fade down. I wish they lasted longer but I've said that about ever set of pads I've ever bought for any brakes. They are also the most quiet pads I've ever used. When wet you get the occasional squeal out of them but that's it, they are silent outside of those conditions and bite like a pit bull.

I tried many different versions of lock ons and finally settled on these. They don't blister your hands due to lack of logos on them, have great grip with or without gloves, (pretty sticky even with sweaty hands) and are a little thicker than the peaty lock ons which I used previously. I also found they don't wear our as fast since they are a little thicker.

It would have been nice if Thule had included this in the $430 box it's for but since they don't.....It does what its supposed to do though I'm sure you don't need the actual Thule version. Buy yourself some weather stripping and tie downs and you could save a few bucks. Though this kit will make for less work.

The first time I took these out I couldnt beleve two things about them. 1. The stopping power and 2. how quiet they were in all conditions. They make no noise even in the dustiest or wettest conditions. I have not found one problem with them in over a year of riding.
