The shape and color look sweet. Most other TT helmets (i.e. LG) look dorky but this one looks pretty awesome. I got the 2011 Matte Black/White one. They say these make you hot because of the lack of ventilation... well maybe if you're racing for hours in the Mojave. It's comfy enough for me.
So I tricked out my bike. Put on aerodynamic bottles with cages, clip-on bars, and deep rim wheels. I also swapped out the handlebars for ones with internal cable routing. So it's now worth around $6K.
My bike is a size Large and even with all the extra material added, it is still only 20 lbs! And yeah, it's still super fast. I imagine my bike is a TT with the practicality of a Road Bike.
The bad thing about this build is that it catches crosswinds and that gets pretty scary. The other bad thing is that the bike is technically NOT STREET LEGAL. Of course, that really just means BRAGGING RIGHTS!
This build cuts through the wind like a Samurai sword!
The double tap shifting is really nice. Its curves make it look good and aerodynamic especially the bottle shroud... I was sold on that!
I plan on getting some profile bars and deep rim wheels... it's gonna look like a freaking Time Trial! But this bike is all about that: aerodynamics.
Looks mighty fine, rides smoothly, rides fast, and this build is under $5K!
Also, I get compliments on this bike 99% of the time I ride it, from people who know nothing of road bikes to other cyclists. It just goes to show you how much of a fine bike it really is.
Who knew plain black and white could look so good!
