Born and raised in Seattle, living in Salt Lake City currently.
I'm an employee of Backcountry.com and spend my time: snowboarding, trail running, guiding sea kayak tours in Yellowstone Natl Park, guiding snowshoe tours in Utah for Cottonwood Canyons Foundation, mountain biking, climbing, lots and lots and lots of backpacking.
I'd love to help you out with any gear questions and I could talk ultralight until the end of time. Give me a call at 1-800-409-4502 extension 4347.
These are a comfy shoe but they do run about a half size too big. I went with the Crossmax Guidance for overpronation control and went a half size down from normal in those. If you need pronation control, go with the Guidance instead.
I think I was surprised by how thick these were for running socks. I use these for hiking instead as they make my feet too hot for runs and take up a little more space in my running shoe than I would like.
