Alyssa Forrest's Bio

I spent the first 22 years of my life in Maine indulging in all the beauty and activities the pine tree state has to offer. The lure of the big mountains brought me westward and a place with Backcountry.com in December 2009 as a phone gearhead. I am now an Assistant Supervisor here at Backcountry.com and love it. Skiing is my passion and I'm out on the hill as much as possible. I'm also taking advantage of the fly fishing, hiking, road biking, and other misc activities Utah has to offer! I hope you all are living the dream and getting outside with other life loving people, I know I am!

All I can ski in now!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I had ACL reconstructive surgery in March of 2013 due to a skiing accident and was pumped to get back on the hill this '13/'14 season. I made the decision to get a knee brace to protect my new ACL and had the hardest time finding tights that would fit with the brace. I love merino, but due to the wool fibers and overall texture the brace fit horribly and also irritated my skin. I had heard good things about CWX so decided to try out these tights. THEY ARE A GAME CHANGER. Not only does my brace stay on 100%, these things are as supportive as everyone says. They increase circulation, are breathable, are damn comfortable and do not irritate my skin. If you are in unsure of sizing, I recommend going by height. The way the supportive webbing is structured means that you will get the most benefit by going by your leg length. I am 5'2" and went with the small. Be warned, these will be tight like a tiger, but thats what you want in compression tights!

All you need in a rear light. Does its job and does it well. Stays on the bike and has multiple settings. Easy to change the battery. This has a 2nd job of a dog indicator light. I use it on my pup while camping to see where she is at night.

I bought the watersport version to nurture my roughed up fishing hands back to health. This stuff is amazing! After a day on the water my hands dry out and I am constantly getting small cuts from branches, hooks, etc. I apply this stuff right out of the water and my hands are rejuvenated. Two of my desperately dry handed fish buddies were apprehensive to accepting "hand lotion" from a girl, but they were stoked after using this stuff and replied. "This stuff actually smells awesome!" Highly recommended for everyone!

This is my 2nd pair of Saucony Mirage running shoes and I am pumped that they are just as awesome, if not better than the last! These are a great running/ gym shoe that are all you need if you are all about jogging around town or getting sweaty at your local gym. I have a bit wider last and these fit great. They are supportive and durable. Highly recommended shoe that wont break the bank!

Buy this pump if you want a no hassle way to get your tires road or trail ready. Worth every cent to be able to pump your tires up with ease. You could probably even drink a cold beverage of your choice while getting these tires to 100 PSI, its that easy. The ABS deflate makes life easy, and the presta speed chuck makes removal from the stem a breeze. This works on every valve type so everyone is happy! This thing is heavy, so beware of its beefiness!

I've had a cutter bones with Fyxation Session Dual Compound Tires for 3 years now and have only used these tubes to support my ride. They are all you need in a tube. Great price, durable, and light. They are easy to install and fill. Recommended for anyone looking for a reliable commuter/bar bike.

Used this to attach my Hero3 to a halved ski pole. I wrapped some duck tape on the cut shaft so no one would get stabbed and to provide a more secure fit (Duck tape has some gives so the mount can be screwed a bit tighter) tied a shoelace to the mount and attached it to the pole for a bit of insurance. Mount allows for camera to hinge easily and do its job. GTS for days with this mount

Perfect Pack!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this pack! It is everything I wanted in a hike pack. It is just big enough to carry essentials yet small enough that it will not weigh you down if you trail run. The convenience of the magnetic bite valve is awesome! The material is durable and there are just enough straps. I am 5'3" and this pack fits perfect! The color is fantastic as well! Highly recommended

No complaints with this helmet! The super customizable fit makes it a versatile piece. I like to wear a flatbrim under and by taking out the pads the fit is perfect. When I don't want the brim, throw the pads back in for a great fit as well! The vents are perfectly placed to get the most airflow in, so girls, grab this helmet if you are worried about helmet hair! All in all this is a great helmet if you want to be safe and not look like a dork. So grab, wear it, and enjoy the ride!

Love Princess Peach!
5 5

This is my first road bike and I am in LOVE! It's perfect for someone who only needs single speed, and just wants a cruiser for barhopping, commuting, and everything or anything in between. I have never ridden a fixie, but if fixed is for you, im sure this thing would be perfect too! As you can see from the photo I got the white version. It has a bit of pearl to it, so definitely an awesome looking bike! I'm absolutely pumped on this bike, and highly recommend it for anyone that wants a fun bike for city livin'
ps:
I was playing a lot of N64 Mario Cart at time of purchase, thus why she is named princess peach. Tires are the Fyxation Session 700 Dual Compound Tire
