The medium fits about the same as the sugoi large. The main difference is going to be in the length of the legs, the castelli are shorter by about an inch.

First off... make sure you go off of standard american sizing with these!! I am 5' 11" 170lbs, athletic shape... and the medium is what I had to go with to keep things tight. I normally wear a large in castelli. Other than that, these things are glorious...one of the best chamois out there, I ride the sugoi rs frequently as well, and these are right there in quality and for a great price. I would recommend these bibs to anyone, and frequently do.
the louis garneau stuff is always pretty good quality...these are probably the best bang for your buck for in between temp gloves I have seen in a while. they work perfect for layering for those colder temps too. I bought the large for my 9.5" palms and they fit perfect. i use these frequently in the low 50's days where bare hands aren't comfortable with the wind....and these work great. good quality, pretty standard lycra and thermo from louis garneau.
so, first off I would just like to say that the fit is spot on according to the sizing chart. I am 5' 11" 170 lbs, athletic build, with right around a 40" chest and the Large fits me perfectly. arm length and size is just right, along with torso length. the quality is great, the detail is superb. I would definitely recommend this jersey to anybody looking for a good jersey in the spring/fall time when they don't want to wear a base layer...or maybe colder (sub 40's) if you do.
I don't think there is much more i could want in a bib short. The chamois is perfect and the material is superb. The only other bib that I think would rival these are the castelli endurance, given the price range. I have done a few 40-50 mile rides in these and they have resulted in no hot spots in the chamois or anything to complain about. I am about 5' 11" and a fit 170lbs (23" thighs, 33" waist, relaxed 40" chest) and I bought the large black/black, they fit perfect.
Quality of castelli is all there, but definitely just a cool weather sock...not a thick woolie like a "real" winter sock...but still a great product by castelli. The length is about the same as most of the other castelli socks. I still use toe covers for any weather below 40. I bought the xxl as I wear a size 12/13 US shoe and they fit perfect.
