Zipp Speed Weaponry VukaClip With VukaShift Extensions
- Item: ZIP0140 Actual Weight:"Actual Weight" means we weighed this item ourselves. 580 g
As a way to get the most advanced aero set up for your road bike or time trial machine, the Zipp VukaClip with VukaShift Extensions will give you that pro edge that could mean the difference between winning and just managing to finish your local ITT event or a full-length triathlon. We paired the Vukaclip with the VukaShift extensions here to make the purchase easy. It contains all that you'll need to install go-fast aerobars on your bike.
The Zipp VukaClip can be used as an addition to both Zipp's VukaBull and the Zipp SLC2 handlebars, while the addition of the VukaShift Extensions gives you access to the super sleek Zipp design which attaches the shifter directly onto the aero extension. The results are additional weight savings and a more comfortable reach to the shifters while you are still in your aero position.
Integrating the shifters directly into the ends of the extension bars effectively saves upwards of 80 grams for the pair by eliminating the extra component that normally plugs into the tip of the extensions and also negates the need for expansion bolts inside the extensions. This also moves the shift levers 30mm closer to your hands which will of course ease wrist strain and make it much easier for you to shift without ever having to get out of your aerodynamic position. Your comfort and “...the cleanest aerobar shifting system known to man, the VukaShift is also light. And with four-axis adjustment, your position can be dialed to perfection...” control will be helped by the fact that the Zipp VukaShift uses the chicane shape which is designed to be extremely aero while also giving you a comfortable enough arm and hand position so that your power-output will never be compromised. The Zipp VukaShift is compatible with Shimano/SRAM and Zipp VukaR2C shifter configurations.
For their VukaClip Zipp has taken extra care to find solutions that will keep the weight down and the aerodynamic properties up while offering a plethora of adjustment options so that you'll always find a comfortable position using these bar clips. The clean lines of the front end are possible because of the compression sleeve system Zipp developed for the aero extensions, which does not need to use external clamps or bolts when installing the bar extensions. This system also allows for a four axis adjustment to the extensions: fore-aft, vertical, rotational, and angular. Since hand position during the extended moments you'll be in the aero tuck is so important for comfort and control, to be able to count on so many adjustment options will mean that this is an aero bar system that will suit almost any rider of any size. Adding to the adjustment options, the replaceable EVA foam pads can be supported either directly above or 12.5mm behind the base bar with a rotational option. At the end of the day, there are 42 possible positional combinations to cater to your comfort and control needs.
Stack height adjustment has also been made possible through the unobtrusive use of risers. The minimum stack height using no risers gives a pad to bar gap of 35mm, while extra risers can increase this distance to 47mm. That extra 12mm might not sound like a lot, but if you have ever ridden an aerobar for any extended period of time, you'll understand how even a nano-adjustment can make all the difference both in aerodynamics and power output. Millimeters count when getting it right. Further adjustment is possible in the overall length of the extension bars since they can be cut up to 90mm which offers an overall adjustment of about 120mm.
The Zipp VukaClip with VukaShift Extensions includes all that you'll need to install onto your base bar and go fast. It's available in three shifter configurations -- R2C, Shimano, SRAM.
