One of the few drawbacks to riding Speedplay pedals is that they're hard to ride with flip-flops. Sure, we know this isn't what they were meant for, but riding from the car to race registration or down the street can be challenging. That's why Speedplay has the Platformer. It's a plastic clamshell that fits over a Speedplay Light Action or Zero pedal so that it's possible to ride comfortably in street shoes.

The design is pretty simple. The package comes with four clamshell halves. Match two of the halves -- put one on the bottom of a pedal and one on the top -- then slide in the U-shaped clip through the slot until you feel the "click." Now you have a platform pedal, perfect for riding in your civvies. To remove them, all you need is a key or coin to pop the bottom of the U-clip out from the pedal body.

The Platformer measures 69mm by 69mm when assembled. It is 24mm thick. There is a Light Action-specific model and a Zero-specific. Claimed weight of a pair of Speedplay Platformers, enough for two pedals, is 264g.
