You're building a 'cross bike and of course, you'll stick to tradition and install cantilever brakes. For the front brake, you'll need a cable hanger. If you're bike didn't come with one, this Tektro Front Cable Hanger will do nicely. Actually it's about the nicest one we've seen. It takes the place of a 10mm 1-1/8" headset spacer, and with its split clamp design and small hex bolt, you can cinch it down once you've got your cable positioned just where you like it.
