Easton's EC90 XC is made from the proprietary Armored Ballistic Compound (ABC). You read those two words right -- 'armored' and 'ballistic.' The material shares the same characteristics as military-grade body armor, and while we strongly warn against using the rim to shield your body from a hail of gunfire, you do benefit from its lightweight impact resistance. And lightweight it is. In fact, Easton claims that the EC90 XC is the lightest 29in UST wheel on the market. You can expect substantial rotational weight savings over last years model; which ultimately amounts to exerting less energy for faster speeds. Durability -- check. Race-day gram count -- check. And not surprisingly, the stiffness to weight ratio is also unparalleled. Whether you're out of the saddle for the final sprint or making a pass on a rutted-out corner, the lateral and torsional rigidity of the EC90 won't disappoint.

The XC is out-of-the-box UST ready. The rim's been mated with 24 Sapim 2.0 spokes, laced three-cross to Easton's top-shelf M1 hub. The front hub only accepts six-bolt disc rotors, and it's compatible with 9 x 100QR and 15 x 100mm through axles.
