The DT Swiss XR 400 rim is identical in every way to the last version of their über-popular 4.2d rim, save for the new name and a fresh set of decals. It's the same extruded aluminum rim shape as the old one with all the same physical dimensions. However, it must be noted that DT Swiss made some running changes with the specific alloy used in this rim. It's harder and more ding resistant than first generation 4.2d rims.

It's a disc-specific cross-country/trail riding rim aimed at folks who appreciate lightweight parts as much as durability. DT sleeves and welds the rim joint for strength, and then machines the sidewalls to true them and make them ready to build into a beautiful wheel. We've always considered eyelets necessary for a wheel built to last, and this one's no exception. The stainless spoke eyelets help to distribute tensional spoke stress to a greater area of the rim surface, reducing the chance of fatigue and failure.

The DT Swiss XR 400 Rim is available in black and with 32 spokes holes. It has a 544mm ERD (effective rim diameter). At just under 24mm wide, the XR 400 can be used with tires up to 2.25". Claimed weight is 400 grams.
