The two fabrics making up the majority of the FR-C Custom Jacket are HD44 and HD44 Light. 'HD' stands for high-density, and 44 represents the number of threads used in the yarn. That density increases the sweat-wicking capabilities of the fabric. Both HD44 and HD44 Light are three-layer fabrics that include a windblocking, but breathable, WindTex membrane and an inner layer of soft, sweat-wicking fleece that has both an antibacterial treatment and a Lycra component for added stretch. The outer surfaces of these fabrics receive a Durable Water Repellant (DWR) treatment for protection against rain. Giordana chose its soft, insulated, and shape-retaining Super Roubaix-Carbon fabric for the underarms, rear panel, pockets, cuffs, and inside the collar.

The FR-C Custom Jacket has an ergonomically shaped tall collar that seals out the elements but doesn't restrict your head movements. The full-length, locking zipper is concealed using Giordana's AeroFix guard, ensuring that you remain aerodynamic in the wind. There are seven pockets on the jacket: two zippered pockets on the chest that also serve ventilation duty, three rear cargo pockets, an added zippered pocket in back, and a hidden pocket at the chest with loops that allow you to route your headphones up through the collar.

Two reflective strips flank the rear center pocket so that you can be seen in low-light conditions. Light elastic at the cuffs and waist and a silicone gripper waistband keep the jacket's fit dialed.
