ERGON HYDRATION PACKS/BAGS
We wish camels were as easy to care for as the Ergon BH200 bladder. This two-liter bladder is a fittingly high-tech reservoir for Ergon packs. As smart as the people at Ergon are, they realized they didn't need to start from scratch. No need to rebuild the wheel, or bladder, when there is already an amazing one on the market. This is why Ergon has always used Hydrapak bladders in their packs. Ergon packs are compatible with just about all bladder systems, but this one is slightly more equal than others, at least according to Ergon.
The thing that gets us most excited is how easy it is to clean. Pull out the "plug and play" connector at the bottom, slide the sealing clip at the top and turn the thing inside out. This way, you can easily soap up, rinse, and air dry the inside.
Maybe you'll be impressed by the fact that the drinking tube can be pulled out when the bladder is full and not leak. On the drinking end of the tube is a 90-degree bite valve; not exactly revolutionary but absolutely necessary. The rest of the features are similarly cool. The bladder itself is made from a tough plastic that can stretch up to eight times its original size without breaking. A little overkill, but there's security in knowing it can be overfilled some and then compressed and still won't explode. There is a graduated measure screenprinted on the outside that gives you good approximations of volume.
The Ergon/Hydrapak BH200 bladder holds two liters (70 fluid ounces) of your favorite beverage. Both the drinking tube and bladder are FDA tested hygienic, BPA- and PVC-free, taste-free polyurethane. It measures 7" wide x 12" tall. The opening is 6 3/4" wide. The drinking tube is 36" long.
