Description

Recover faster so you can pedal harder.

Just as important as supplying nutrition during exercise or competition is proper recovery. Powerbar specifically formulated its Recovery Bars to offer post-exercise nutrition directly to the muscles.

Carbohydrates play a crucial role in restoring glycogen, the long-term form of energy storage in muscles that's lost during extreme exertions. Each bar contains 30 grams of carbohydrates to help promote glycogen levels to re-energize muscles. On top of that, muscles also need lipids and protein that's depleted during exercise.

Powerbar packs 12 grams of quality protein into each Recovery Bar to support muscle repair and restore lost lipids. Also lost during endurance sports are electrolytes. To help prevent cramping, Recovery Bars contain 180mg of sodium to help the body rehydrate. Powerbar Recovery Bars come in a box of 15 Bars, and they're available in two flavors: Peanut Butter Caramel Crisp Cookies and Cream Caramel Crisp.

Haven't tried these, whats the bene's? Do they break down nice? What makes them recovery specific? I see they are talking a lot about glycogen which creates acid (Not so Good for Recovery), but as an Exercise Physiologist I am not really seeing the recouperative qualities to regaining acid and mineral balance. Only 100 g of K? Aside from the 12 gs of protein I just don't get it. Any thoughts?
