Portland Design Works Spaceship/Radbot 500 Light Set $0.00
Because getting hit has never been cool
Take a step back and think -- what's one good reason to be night riding without a set of lights on your bike? If you can actually think of a reason, stop and think again, because you're wrong. If you're rolling 'stealth mode' in the dark, you need the Portland Design Works Spaceship/Radbot 500 Light Set. This light set sends out a blinding array of light, like you just took the lid off of the arc. No, there won't be any malicious ghost appearing when you turn on the light set, but at least drivers will see and avoid you.
Portland Design Works' Radbot 500 Tail Light lives up to the image that its name conjures. Like a sentient, robotic protector from inattentive drivers, the Radbot 500 has more bells and whistles than you knew you could have, but now that you have them, you can't let them go. At the heart of the system is a 0.5 watt Japaenese Red LED and a built-in precision reflector. The reflector jams a death-ray sized beam of pure light out to the world, and even better, it meets the EU standards of visibility (seen over 500 feet away). In fact, the system output is equal to the brake lights in modern production cars; meaning that you'll finally be seen as part of traffic. The Radbot is powered by two AAA batteries, and is housed in a water-resistant case.
The Radbot 500 features two strobe settings -- zZz pop and rock steady. We know that the names tell a visual story, but because they're so cool, we'll break them down for you. The zZz pop displays how it sounds. The output swells to a crescendo of light before going 'pop' into a dazzling array of strobing madness. Rock Steady is just a fun way to say solid beam. Remarkably, the Radbot can blink for around 60 hours per battery cycle, and can go for around 30 hours on steady.
The front light in the package is a headlamp that PDW calls the Spaceship. Running on two AA batteries, the Spaceship unleashes a Japanese powered LED explosion of pure white light. The beam refraction is further strengthened by German-engineered lens. To make sure that your Spaceship can be seen by your brethren in space, PDW fixed a secondary LED atop the light's body. The light shines up to the celestial heavens like a homing beacon, but we just think that it looks cool. The whole system has been housed in a water-resistant case, so rain or shine, you'll be riding safely.
For easy attachment, the light comes with mounts for your seatpost and seat stays. PDW also included a backpack clip if you think that your bike is too pretty for mounting hardware. The Spaceship features an integrating mounting clip that can secure to either 22.0 or 31.8mm handlebars.
The Portland Design Works Spaceship/Radbot 500 Light Set is available in one color and size. The Radbot 500 Tail Light is 36x40x82mm, and the Spaceship headlight is 98x41x35mm. All corresponding batteries are included in the light set.
