why would you buy anything else?

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This product is perfection! It is light, small, easily fits in your underseat bag and works perfectly delivering the right amount of air needed. Not too much , not too little and not so fast and out of control that everything freezes. . I have owned many styles of these and there is no need to look further.

compact and easy

I generally like pumps but this co2 is durable and easy to control and packable.

Compact and easy to control

In addition to being very small / compact, I really love that you can control the flow of CO2 coming out of the Portland Designs Shiny Object inflater. And if you haven't used *all* of the CO2 in a cartridge, you can still stash it in your pocket while still attached to the cartridge in case you need to top off a slow leak later down the road.

Easy to Use

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Helpful to have some pressure control when trying to get back on the road or trail. Simple to use and no complains so far.

Shiny, Useful and Neat.

I'm a new convert to the CO2 inflator game and I'm impressed. Keeping this little tool that's smaller than a lot of multi-tools and a couple of cartridges in my kit sure beats a pump.

Plus, using those small handheld pumps puts a good amount of stress on the valve stem if you're not careful. No such issue with the Shiny Object.

Superb Design

This has been the easiest to use C02 pump I've owned. Cheaper pumps sometimes "misfire" and you're left with a useless cartridge and a couple bucks flushed down the drain. With this pump, it's an easy thread in for the cartridge, with a smooth control release for pumping up your tires. Really an excellent design, well done and very well manufactured.

You can never have too many inflators

I go through tons of inflators for some reason. They end up in my jersey, shorts, saddle bag, hydro pack, car and tool box. This one is the best one I've owned. It twists on and off so be sure to twist it off before you install the cartridge otherwise you may loose some valuable CO2.

    Awesome

Previously had a Lezyne inflator which I always found tricky to use. The Portland Design Works inflator is super easy to use, and tiny. It's really easy to control pressure with the control knob. Given I wear gloves mountain biking, didn't bother with the version with the C02 canister cover. Good stuff.
