From heavy steel units on classic cruisers to plastic OJ jugs wire-tied to food-delivery bikes, the bicycle fender is an essential accessory. Portland Design Works takes the design to the next level by producing the first quick-release, full aluminum fender -- the Excalibur Fender.

The aluminum construction makes it strong and light, and its proprietary mounting bracket fits around any round seatpost diameter. The clamp is a quick-release design, so it's easy to leave it at home when the sun is shining, or to toss it in a bag if you're worried about theft.

The Portland Design Works Excalibur Fender is available in the colors Black and Silver. It's dimensions measure to 510mm long and 70mm wide. For theft prevention, the quick-release lever is replaceable with an included 5mm Allen bolt.

Bombproof fender

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I use this daily on my commuter and love it! It is totally durable and very easy to install. Having both the QR and bolt is a nice feature. I use the QR so I can take it off when I know there is a long spell of dry weather and I am fortunate to be able to bring my bike into my work place, so I do not have to worry about theft!

PDW makes stuff that doesnt suck.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

this is a great fender. ive installed it on my commuter and it classes up the whole rig. its pretty lightweight for being metal and its tough. you can run it with a QR or a regular bolt for a more permanent install.
