Description

Before Portland Design Works stepped in with Dave's Mud Shovel Fat Bike Fender, options were either constructed from a milk jug or flap stolen from a big rig. Instead of dodging lot lizards and dealing with brittle quick ties, the PDW Mud Shovel is the perfect shape to keep your down tube and person clear of flying muck.

It's made from a durable plastic and installs/removes quickly with custom-adjustable rubber straps for the front, and a seatpost mount for the rear. The Shovel can be trimmed to fit smaller frames, and its riveted design allows a clean break without damaging the fender during a crash.

Portland Design Works Dave's Mud Shovel Fat Bike Fender is available in both the front (6.5in wide and 19.5in long) and rear (5.5in wide and 22.5in long) options, and in the color Black.

Installation was a Snap

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Super easy to install. Lots of coverage. If you are tired of wet snow or stream crossings soaking your backside here you go. The mounts are particularly gentle on the carbon frame and seat post.
