does anyone know if these will pair well with thePOC Joint VPD 2.0 Knee Guard?

Hey Kevin - These are designed to integrate with the POC Joint VPD 2.0 Knee Guards (Item #POC0182) for full leg protection. A great pair in my opinion. Feel free to contact me directly if you want to order these POC Pads or with any additional questions.

Kyle- what about compatibility with POC Joint VPD Air (NOT 2.0) knee pads? Can't find the answer anywhere for the knee Air compatibility...

They definitely protect your shins

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

Personally I think they are a bit bulky and over powered for a trail pad. I also believe that if you're riding downhill, you should just rock a full knee/shin pad. That all being said, If you ride trail and downhill and don't want to buy two sets of pads then buying these with the VPD 2.0 knee pad would be an excellent option.

2.0 Shin Pads

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are really comfy and the VPD padding is great. The construction is tough and they protect my shins from my flats. Great pads!

Is there padding & kevlar on the back of theses to protect the back of the ankle from pedal strikes/ slips?

No, just on the front.

comfortable once you find the right size

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

aside from their large logo placement, POC makes great products, and these shin guards were no exception. it was difficult finding my size using the online guide even from their website so I ended up requesting all three sizes to try. I'm 5'6" with a shin length of approximately 16.5" and a calf width of approximately 15.5" and went with the medium with plenty of room to "grow" via the velcro straps. the small fit my calf width just the same, but I went with the longer medium since I was going to put these over the knee pads anyway.

like I said originally, their product logo is kind of annoying being that I have the knee and these shins the POC logo kind of stands out.

Can't really find a good sizing guide. ...

Can't really find a good sizing guide. POC website just shows the length of the pad but doesn't have recommended calf circumference ranges. I am 6'1" and 14.5" calf. Medium or Large?
