Here's what others have to say...

Gets me noticed

Great headlight! No strange noises and straps on securely to my Ritchey carbon handlebar. The flashing mode gets the attention of drivers and might even be a little too bright... had one car flash their high-beams because I had the light a little too high. At least they saw me! I bought one for my wife as well and they're both working flawlessly for the past few weeks.

How many lumens does this light throw? How...

How many lumens does this light throw?
How far out in front of the bike with this light?
Is it a sufficient one light system to ride off road trails in the dark with?

    Not enough to count.
    Not far enough to measure.

    Bright light but chintzy

The mounting bracket broke when I simply closed the hasp. Fortunately I was able to scavenge the hasp from another mfg's light (a Cat-Eye that lost a game of tag with the pavement). Once I had the light mounted, I noticed that the light makes a terrible rattling noise, one that I have never experienced with any other similar light. Drives me nuts. Other than that, the light is bright, the strobe function catches driver's attention. My next light, however, will be another Cat-Eye Opticube HD EL500.

      great light

This is an awesome light. Super bright, though I don't know if I'd use it off-road. Works well as a commuter light. The "disco" mode makes the light hard to ignore in high-traffic areas. Both the light housing AND the mount are quick release. I guess it's all fine and good if you're swapping bikes often. Personally, I wish they hadn't made the mount tool-less. Even so, still a great light (and replacement mounts are easily found).
