Comfortable, mediocre durability
Bought these because I know PI has good products. I've xc biked with them for about 20 hours so far and it looks as though there are some dings and some potential for stitching to come undone. I admit, I am a tough customer and may be selling them short, but I hope they hold up. They just don't seem as though they are made with enough durability needed for xc mountain biking. Although, on sale they were so cheap that I can't really lose. Also, I have some $60 motorcycle gloves that are leather. They are pretty durable, but they cost $60. So, I give them a 3 because I have not used them more than 20 hours and still standing up, but look like they're wearing quick. For the sale price (like $20, maybe less), they are worth it.
This is probably one of the best full-fingered cycling gloves that I've ever owned.
Full-fingered coverage keeps your digits warm on cold mornings. They are thinn enough where you maintain great feeling and excellent articulation. (However, it must be noted that during high altitude descents, you might find that your hands get a little chilly.) They are soft and supple. The palm is 100% leather, so they wear and grip great. Sizing is perfect. I've got large hands and the XXL's fit perfectly. And, with the white and black model, you provide great visibility when signaling... which is a plus.
Bottom line: I like these gloves so much, I'm buying a second pair. I've got no complaints. If you're on the fence as whether or not to get a pair... go for it - you won't regret it.
Pearl Izumi's Pittard leather is turning me into a glove snob. It's stupidly soft, moisture resistant, tactile, and durable - I'm having trouble wanting to ride anything else. Oh, and you can operate a touchscreen smartphone while wearing them. Witchcraft!
And while the pics might make the Veer look like a full-on mtb glove, it's extremely lightweight, and super-cooled, thanks to the mesh backing. Good summer glove if you insist on full-fingered, or nice for those brisk morning sprints up the canyon.
* I wear an XL in Castelli, and a Large in Specialized and Pearl Izumi gloves; sizing on the Veer offers no surprises
