Why make winter any harder?

Between defrosting your car in the morning, bundling up to go outside, and withstanding chilly breezes on your daily commute, Old Man Winter can be a real pain. Knowing that you shouldn't have to suffer through cool winter rides, the Pearl Izumi Men's Select Thermal Tight delivers toasty warmth through cool temperatures dipping into the 40-degree range. Its Select Thermal Fleece not only provides warmth and exceptional moisture management, but it also fits and feels like normal cycling tights for enhanced comfort and movement.

Designed with an eight-inch lower leg zipper, you'll find this cycling tight is easy to take on and off. It forgoes an included chamois, allowing you to wear your preferred summer shorts underneath or wear 'em without a chamois during other cool-weather activities.

Featuring an anatomical, multi-panel design, this cycling tight provides full articulation during common cycling movements, with panels attached with flatlock, double needle seams for a durable, non-abrasive structure. Keeping everything in place, this tight uses a plush elastic ankle gripper. This not only helps to retain a contoured fit, but it also ensures that the insulation layer remains uninterrupted. Moreover, this thermal tight has reflective elements for extra visibility when you're riding under street lights.

Great Value, Quality & Performance

  • Fit:True to size

This is my second generation purchase of this product. Great crossover capabilities as I use them for running and x-cross skiing in addition to biking. I got 5 years (used seasonally) from my previous set. If you need a "go-to" pair of tights for the 38F-50F temperature range these are a must buy.

Perfect for riding in Fall and Spring

  • Fit:True to size

Application: Wear these tights -over- the bibshorts you know and love. Pearl Izumi designed the light-weight "select" tights for cycling in 50 to 65 F weather. And they are *great* for this.

Pearl Izumi USA is based in Boulder, CO. They know fall/winter cycling. And quality/QC is known for being excellent (thus, lifetime warranty).

Because the Pearl Izumi range of cycling tights is so extensive (largest in the sport), here is the breakdown:

Select line -Thinnest material for protection during Fall and Spring riding.
Elite line -Slightly thicker material for protection during colder Fall, Spring, and Winter riding.
P.R.O. line -Thickest, most advanced textiles for deepest Winter protection.

"AmFIB" (amphibious) adds water-resistance. "Barrier" adds further cold and wind-protection.

Cold weather cycling must

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I live @ 7k feet so biking in the winter can be chilly. No chamois is a deal breaker for some people, but i don't mind. You could wear your shorts under, but I just wear sport briefs and have no issues. Strategic fabric placement keeps you flexible and warm in the right places. Good tights for the cold winter days.
