My go to cycling shorts

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I have worn PI Elite Pursuit shorts for some time and I would have never purchased these Pro shorts unless they were on sale, as I felt they were just too expensive to justify the purchase over the Elites, however, after riding in these Pros on several Century rides, they have become my go to shorts, and worth every penny, even at regular price. You will not regret purchasing the PI Pro Pursuit Bib Shorts.

Good fit. Too ugly to wear outdoors

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Fit is pretty good. The pad is ok. The design is so horrific I will only wear them under tights.

Great bibs

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Got these and wore them on a 45 mile ride, had zero problems, in fact it was great. I would recommend these to everyone.

Excellent Chamois

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

Although this is very subjective I base the quality of the shorts first in foremost on the quality of the chamois and then the over fit. This is by far the most comfortable chamois I have ever ridden...bar none! Although I do like the overall fit I am surprised their is not better grip around the legs. Don't get me wrong its not bad but just not as good as I would have expected given the overall construction. Would definitely buy again.

6' 200lbs Recreational Rider

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: xl

First off Pearl Izumi stuff lasts. If you pay the $$ you need longevity.
The best fit for "American" sized people. At 200lbs the XL fits me perfect not too loose or tight. Straps are just right for 6' tall riders. Padding is great-again not too little or too much, no uncomfortable seams or gathering. On a final note, if you have really big sprinter type thighs, these might be too slim in the cut.
**Don't use fabric softeners-ruins breathability of all cycle gear. The new Pearsol detergent works great

Sharply Styled Bibs that Perform

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

Used these with the matching jersey several times & for a 105 mile charity ride. Chamois was comfortable for the ride & several people commented on the kit. Nice product

Great shorts, straps a bit tight if +6ft

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

Great pad and material. I'm 6'2 and 165lb and the mediums are a great fit except the bib straps dig into my shoulders a bit while standing. Not so bad when riding, and at least the pad stays firmly in place.

Excellent bib

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I have bibs from several makers (Endura, Garneau, Assos & even Campy) and find that they all function very good. The Pearl Izumi was the only one that was a little tight but it broke in after a couple of rides. Comfortable with decent compression.

Great fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Size Bought: small

5'10 and about 150, 30 is waist. ordered small and they fit great - snug, but that's how they are supposed to be. Length of straps is ok - wouldn't want any shorter but not uncomfortable. Chamois felt great. Liked the separation between the chamois and the outer shell.

PRO In-R-Cool vs Pursuit. Is the Pursuit just a step up in PI lineup, or are these two very different bibs for different applications?

I have a pair of Elite In-R-Cool right now and love them. Trying to decide on next bib purchase. Considering Elite In-R-Cool, PRO In-R-Cool and PRO Pursuit.

I have the same question. My take is Pursuit is the old PRO with 10 " inseam, and PRO has had cost cutting by replacing Lycra with nylon in non critical areas with 9" inseam. Pursuit probably has more compression/chafing resistance. My old, worn out PRO shorts (not bibs) have far more compression than my new Elite shorts did day 1, and are far less likely to twist on long rides. I pasted the descriptions from the PI site into a doc and deleted the stuff that seemed to be the same. Here is what's left:

• Sculpted bib upper with electronics storage pocket
