Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Softshell Gloves $74.95
Roll through the storms ahead.
Pearl Izumi describes its new P.R.O. Softshell Gloves as providing 'optimal warmth without the bulk.' We'd say that's a perfect description, as these cold-weather gloves keep your hands and wrists shielded from the elements, while still providing you with maximum cockpit control through their flexible composition.
The P.R.O. Softshell Gloves were constructed using a strategic layering system. The outer-layer was made with Pearl Izumi's Softshell material, which is the same three-layer fabric that's used in its high-end jackets. This material features a knit face, waterproof, windproof, and breathable membrane, along with a brushed backing. Below this layer, a generous layer of Primaloft insulation was added in order to provide maximum warmth without adding any overall bulk. Underneath these two layers is the soft next-to-skin fleece lining. As a system, these layers provide the perfect amount of protection and insulation for late fall and winter riding conditions.
Pearl Izumi designed the P.R.O. gloves to follow the contours of your palms using curved panels of Pittards WR 100X Natural Carbon Leather. This is a soft and durable material that's exceptionally grippy, meaning that you'll retain a sure grip on the bars regardless of any late-season rains or snow flurries. Additionally, the index and middle fingers were lightly treated with silicone, furthering your grip at the brake levers.
The gloves were finished off with adjustable hook-and-loop closures at the wrists, soft fleece wiping surfaces on the backs of the thumbs, and reflective elements for heightened visibility to motorists in low-light visibility.
The Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Softshell Gloves are available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the colors Black and White.
- Measure around your hand at the widest point excluding the thumb.

They look super bulky on the web site but I couldn't imagine they really are given how all other PI gloves look in pictures. Surprise, they are really bulky.
Pretty much as bulky as ski gloves, maybe really warm, I'll never know, returning. Priced like quality ski gloves but not as nice in my opinion.
