Almost perfect

These are great shorts. I just got back from a week long, challenging ride in Maine and these shorts were by far my favorite. They run slightly small; the medium was just a wee tight, so I exchanged for the large, which was a wee large, thus the 'almost perfect' comment. I still love the shorts and recommend them. They have a higher waist, which I find more comfortable and I like all the panels. They kept me cool and comfortable on even the most challenging climbs. Worth the price, for sure.

Liked - but they run small

These just arrived and I liked everything about them, except that they were a tad too small. Not an entire size, but I was afraid the waist would stretch out eventually and also, the bands on the legs were just tight enough that I worried about comfort on a long ride. I have exchanged them for larges and will see how those work out. But the quality of these shorts is really high and I'm looking forward to getting a pair that hopefully fits.

It would be helpful to know what size someone is when they comment that a particular size runs small or large. What does that mean unless you know on whom it runs small or large? I am a heavy legged 5'5 but not obese by any means. It is difficult to know what size I would be according to Pearl Izumi. Thanks!

I own one pair of PI shorts, but not these, the Quest model I think, I've always been an xs in tops and bottoms with them. I'm 5'4 105 lbs and xs is a comfy tight on me. I like my bike clothes very tight and fitted.
