A new level of protection.

Sitting at the top of Pearl Izumi's new 'cold weather' collection, the P.R.O. Bib Tights were engineered to provide maximum protection from the elements. They were constructed using Izumi's new softshell fabric technology in order to ensure that you stay warm, dry, and comfortable out there in temperatures ranging from 0 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pearl Izumi constructed the bulk of the bib tights using a combination of two distinct technical fabrics. The first is P.R.O. Thermal, which is a high-end blend of two of Pearl Izumi's advanced materials in one. It relies on the exceptional moisture transporting properties of its Transfer fabric to keep you dry, while the lightweight brushed fleece-type interior insulates your leg muscles. The Transfer fabric is also known for its exceptional moisture management, which works by pulling sweat away from your skin to the quick-drying outer-surface. A lightweight thermal fleece material was then blended with the Transfer, providing just the right amount of insulating protection.

Pearl Izumi also targeted specific front and side panels with its new AmFIB Softshell fabric. This material features a knit face, waterproof, windproof, and breathable membrane, along with a brushed backing. Moving up from the legs, Pearl Izumi constructed the bib portion with its lightweight Direct-Vent mesh for added comfort and support. Together, these materials work as a system to keep you warm, dry, and comfortable during your early- and late-season rides.

The elasticity in the fabric panels allows the bib tights to follow your movements in the saddle. This means that the fit is free from any bunching, pinching, or chafing while tucked in the cycling position. Pearl Izumi calls this its 'Form Fit,' which is cut to closely follow the contours of your body while still providing a full range of motion. Combined with the anatomic cut and elastic fabrics, the smooth flatlock stitching used to join the bib tights' panels further reduces any friction at the seams.

Pearl Izumi finished off the bib tights with a contrasting fluorescent trim and reflective elements front and back for heightened visibility to motorists in low-light riding conditions.

The Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Bib Tights are available in the color Black and in five sizes from Small to XX-Large. Please note that these tights do not feature a chamois.

Great winter bib tights!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Large

I've tried four different brands and these are my favorite. Warm, good fit, and comfortable. I took someone's advice and sized down - glad I did. Pair with my favorite bib shorts and I'm set.

Amazingly durable.

  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: XL

This is my second winter season wearing these tights and I cant recommend them enough. Did an ill advised ride in icy conditions this morning and ended up falling on asphalt pavement 4 times. The tights sustained a small 1" tear on my left side after my 3rd fall - other than that they hardly even scuffed. Amazing. Love PI gear for its value and durability, if my tailor cannot fix the hole I'll be ordering a replacement tight immediately.

PI value and P.R.O. quality

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I switched from a pair of PI Elite tights with chamois that used over the winter last year and really like the change. The weather hasn't been too cold in NY yet, but early morning rides have started out in the low 40's and into the 50's. The bib fits is snug and form fitting (race), and being a bib there are no cinches at the waist or exposed flesh when you go aero mode! The graphics are minimal. I use PI PRO bib shorts underneath for the chamois and this works very well. We've had some windy days (15+ mph) that drove windchill into the 30's and these allow zero cold in. I have the PI PRO soft-shell jacket on top and vary the layering underneath depending on the conditions. Over 50F I have the crack the jacket zip, especially on climbs, but I've never felt too warm on the legs. I find the quality of PRO gear is excellent and PI is good value in general, plus their sizing is consistent across the range. Once you figure out your fit you can order the size and know it will fit. The only exception I've had to this was a 2014 PRO barrier jacket that was just an odd cut.

Awesome winter kit!

These tights far exceeded my expectations. They keep me training over a wide range of temps--in the 20's with knee warmers underneath and all they way up to when the temps at end of ride have warmed to 50. I've used them on winter alpine climbs when the weather has warmed up another to let me climb up to nearby ski resorts in November. Great wind protection and very quick drying. These are designed for high energy output training--they were never designed for rain wear.

Durable and well fitting. I'm 6 foot and 170 and the large fits well--I may have gotten away with a medium.

Love these!!

Do you wear a pair of Summer Bibs under because they do not have a Chamois?

Yes, I wear a pair of summer bibs under.
