Lead.

Multi-day races revolve around one thing: the leader's jersey. This makes any article bearing that name a significant piece of cycling kit, so we greeted the release of Pearl Izumi's P.R.O. Leader Jersey with some high expectations.

In order to meet those expectations, Pearl kitted the P.R.O. Leader with two different primary materials. The body is P.R.O. Transfer In-R-Cool, which excels at pulling moisture from your skin and diffusing it across its own surface for quick-drying comfort. The sleeves and shoulders are P.R.O. Transfer fabric, a Coldblack-treated material that reflects the sun's rays in order to keep you cool, inside and out.

The jersey is finished with side panels of Direct-Vent for added cooling and a panel of structural mesh to support the rear pockets, one of which is water-resistant. The panels are laid-out in an anatomic, race-cut pattern, and an elasticized grip on the rear hem keeps that shape in place.

Well made, looks good.

  • Fit:Runs small

I normally wear a medium jersey, but since I was at the top end of the sizing chart for medium, I went with large. I'm glad I did. The Large is snug on my chest, and just right on my arms, which are big for my size.. The one place the fit isn't so good is in the back. It's both too long and too loose. But I'm glad I didn't go with a smaller size as it would not have fit elsewhere. I did like the P.R.O. enough to buy a second one in a different color.

Well made, looks good.

How does the fit compare to Pearl Izumi Elite jersey? I wear a large in Elite

Probably the same. Most jerseys I wear a medium. Assos and Pearl I go with Large. The Large P.R.O. fits me pretty well. It's a little long and loose in the back.
