P.R.O. In-R-Cool Bib Shorts

The Pearl Izumi P.R.O. collection incorporates advanced material technologies, sophisticated construction methods, and aerodynamic fits in order to provide you with Izumi's full engineering capabilities. The P.R.O. In-R-Cool Bib Shorts sit right at the top of this line, as they were designed with each of these characteristics in mind. The new bib shorts deliver a sleek, race-proven construction that provides maximum comfort and unmatched quality.

Pearl Izumi constructed the majority of the bib shorts using a combination of two distinct technical fabrics. The first is P.R.O. Transfer In-R-Cool, which is a lightweight and highly-elastic material that incorporates what's known as Coldblack technology. This is a finishing treatment that reduces the absorption of heat rays in darker fabrics, resulting in protection from the sun and improved heat management. The second fabric is Pearl Izumi's Transfer Dry fabric, which complements the In-R-Cool material with its ability to pull moisture away from the skin, accelerate dry time, and to combat odor. Pearl Izumi accomplished this by treating the Transfer Dry with what it calls Minerale. Basically, this is a porous, highly-absorbent yarn that's been infused with crushed volcanic rock. Blending these two fabrics for the bulk of the shorts' paneling material means that you stay supported, dry, and comfortable throughout your longest rides.

The multi-panel design of the bib shorts gives you an anatomic fit, with structured leg openings that wrap and support your muscle groups. The inseam measures 9-1/4 inches (size Medium), and the cuffs were treated with silicone -- keeping the panels in place and providing extra grip for either knee or leg warmers. Wide Direct-Vent mesh bib straps flow up from the top panels, smoothly tapering at the shoulders.

The bib shorts were built around Izumi's seamless 4D Chamois. This insert incorporates 12mm variable density padding throughout its three-layer construction. The new foam technology means that it's 35% lighter and substantially thinner than previous generations. Impressively, it still maintains its pre-shaped, four-way stretch anatomic shape. The chamois also incorporates Izumi's pressure relief technology (PRT) and active carbon yarns in order to optimize riding comfort, blood flow, and thermo-regulation.

Pearl Izumi finished off the bib shorts with an electronics storage pocket that's been integrated into the bibs' uppers. Additionally, Izumi incorporated reflective elements that increase your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions.
