Description

It almost feels like cheating.

It's common for a manufacturer to have matching jersey and short combinations —in fact it's the norm. Most of the time it simply makes it easier to match. However, in the case of the Pearl Izumi P.R.O. In-R-Cool Bib Shorts, you'll discover that the shorts and jersey both utilize the same materials that will turn your hot and humid summer ride into a comfortable, ventilated joy.

By including their top of the line P.R.O. Seamless 4D Chamois, in the In-R-Cool Bibs, you know your rear will be ready for whatever the road and your riding companions can throw at you. This chamois is their most advanced, suited for enthusiasts and pros alike —anyone on the bike four or five days a week. And you'll be impressed to know that this iteration of the chamois still has the variable density foam, but it's 35% lighter and thinner than before.

The three layers of padding make it possible to place material where it is needed. You won't have to worry about chafing since it is seamless and has a four way breathable stretch to avoid any moisture build-up. Pearl Izumi also included their Pressure Relief Technology (PRT), which means that the insert has been specifically designed to relieve those most tender spots and allow the blood to circulate. They also added thermo-regulating carbon yarns, which prevent the friction from developing.

As for the bib legs, Pearl Izumi has made use of the same advanced materials that they have lavished on the P.R.O. In-R-Cool Short Sleeve Jersey. By integrating both its Minerale and In-R-Cool technologies into the Transfer fabric that is used for its bibs, Pearl Izumi ensured that the fabric will reflect the sun to keep you cooler and simultaneously work to wick the sweat that does develop. Integrating Minerale boasts 15 times the typical poly weave surface area, which facilitates wicking and evaporation of moisture.

The anatomic, multi-panel design ensures the riding position fit will be perfect and free from bunching or gapping fabrics. The bib suspenders use the P.R.O. Transfer fabric with Minerale straps. The silicone leg gripper holds the short legs in place. They won't pinch your skin either, even if you haven't quite joined the fully initiated and keep your legs unshaven. The Pearl Izumi P.R.O. In-R-Cool Bib Shorts have a 9 1/4in inseam. They are available in Small through XX-Large and come in Black/True Red.

  • Aero Fabric reduces drag to up your aerodynamic edge
  • P.R.O Transfer fabric with In-R-Cool tech keeps you cool and blocks UV rays
  • Anatomic, multi-panel design gives you a great fit that can move with you
  • P.R.O seamless 4D chamois uses light-weight foam for a lighter more comfortable ride

Great Choice

I love these bibs - nice and comfortable, and you can order your usual size - I am 6'1" 180, 34 waist, generally a large, and this large works fine. It gets tiresome having to order and re order in the Euro brands (sometimes needing an XXL). PI also always wears well, reliable quality, and you can count on them for years of good use.

Awesome Material

These bibs are well made with an very soft material that is very comfortable on long rides. I am 6 ft, 182 ibs, wasit 34 and hips 38.5 inches and purchased a L. The fit is comfortable. Pearl Izumi runs bigger than Castelli, Capo and DHB especially in the hips. I purchased on sale and for under $100, and for that price, would not hesitate to pick up another pair. Great product.

Saticfied

I bought it for my husband and he is really satisfied with it.
He used it on "Birkebeinerrittet". A 94 km mountain ride here in Norway.

P.R.O. is the way to go

I have been riding for the last year and only purchased Pearl Izumi gear and this is my first P.R.O. line bibs. From now on I will buy nothing besides P.R.O. as they truly make the difference for comfort, fit and keeping cool. I ride at least three times a week and around 125 miles. My legs and seat have never felt better. Unlike many of the other reviews I have read about the product fitting too tight there were no issues. I am 5'10" and 200 pounds on a large frame. Next month I will be riding my first century with my new bibs and really look forward to riding now in comfort.

You mention your personal dimensions but you didn't say what size you bought.....?

Loved it but...

The overall fit was excellent and chamois is best that I have had so far...however I had to return it because the shoulder strap wear down on me over a long ride.
I will have to settle down on the shorts version of this - I realize bib are not for me at the moment.
I still give this product a FIVE start.

Fantastic bibs - In-R-Cool really works

I returned a lesser grade of P.I. bibs because of fit and quality issues, but was really intrigued with the In-R-Cool material because I live and ride in a very hot climate with very intense sun. Realcyclist was great about taking back the other bibs and I ordered the PRO.

I am blown away with the fit and quality of the PRO bibs, and I am super impressed with the ability of the material to reflect heat. The geniuses at P.I. have hit a home run, as I can feel a very noticeable reduced amount transferred heat in direct sun. The chamois is very comfortable even at the end of long rides, and the upper fits well without being too tight or digging in to the shoulders. I am 5'9", 160 lbs., and the medium fit perfectly.

I have a number of different brand bibs, but these are the best I own and are better than much more expensive ones I own. I will definitely be getting additional pairs of these.

Is this the current model of the shorts or is it an older version? Style 11111103?

Great seat, need to stretch it though

The seat is amazing! However, front material hits me too high and thus restricts my air flow when I need it. Stretching has helped and I'll have to continue to stretch it another few inches to get it below my diaphragm.
