Ride with the P.R.O.s.

Everybody likes having warm fingers, so it stands to reason that everybody will also be fans of the Pearl Izumi P.R.O. AmFib Cycling Gloves. Pearl updates this classic by constructing it from DWR-coated P.R.O. Softshell, which repels water while maintaining exceptional breathability, and stuffing it full of low-bulk Primaloft Gold synthetic insulation. The insulation and soft fleece lining will stay warm even if they get wet, while the durable Clarino palm is flexible but abrasion resistant. The hook-and-loop cuff closure keeps heat in and water out, and the soft microfleece thumb panel provides a perfect surface for nose and goggle wiping.

These gloves provide instant warmth and retain heat down to approximately 25 degrees. They also protect your hands from the wind. The one downside is that when you remove the gloves, the internal insulation also comes out with your fingers. It's surprisingly difficult to return the insulation to it's original position. Nevertheless, it's not simple to find gloves which are truly warm and also provide sufficient dexterity for switching gears and braking effectively. Hence, these are definitely keepers!

I just looked and almost all of my winter clothes are Pearl Izumi. I ordered 1 size up to give extra space in the fingers. These gloves keep my fingers warm in the coldest weather. Often ,when I wear my actual size gloves, my fingertips would get cold an hour into a cold ride. I have this same pair in my actual size and my fingertips get cold. I love these and they are durable and comfortable. I highly recommend these.

    Mmmm Toasty

I needed something to keep my hands warm while riding and running in Maine through the winter, and I am very happy with my purchase. In my opinion, they are thicker and bulkier than they appear in the images. While this 'bulkiness' slightly hinders dexterity, I am still able to shift and break with minimal limitations. If I were a more serious 'picky' rider, this may be an issue, but when it's 20°, I'm more concerned with warmth than the smoothest shifting. While I tend to 'run warmer' than most people, I find these extremely warm: so warm that my hands can become sweaty even in the coldest of conditions. So far, the coldest I've had them is 10° with a windchill while riding along the ocean - warm hands and no breeze coming through. These gloves also cover a few inches of my forearms keeping those areas nice and toasty. The reflective areas are convenient for darker riding, and the nose wipe is another great feature that I probably use far too often. I haven't had these out in the rain yet, and hope I never really have to, but I believe the fleece lining and DWR coated shell would keep me warm and dry. Also, you can't beat the sale price!

    Great buy

Pealizumi has it figured out, Insulation on the part of the glove that faces the wind, I did a 35 mile gravel ride in Iowa with a 18mph head wind and my hands were more than comfy, Dexterity is compromised but its worth it for the warmth. The only down side is the liner tends to want to pull out when you remove your hand,

I agree the liner moves when you pull your hand out and the gloves are bulky. It's worth it for the warmth these gloves provide.
