For the trails you never wanted to run.

The Pearl Izumi Women's EM Trail N2 V2 Running Shoe helps you take on the roughest terrain yet. Its E:Motion midsole has an ideal balance between cush and support for the trail, and the midsole's dynamic offset design offers a surprisingly smooth ride. Energy Foam also cushions the forefoot, and it returns energy at each step-off. The long-lasting carbon rubber sole has aggressive lugs for multi-directional traction on any terrain. Pearl Izumi also added an ESS rock plate to prevent underfoot bruising when you hit pokey rocks protruding out of the trail.

Only wish the heel was narrower

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 8

For context, I've been trying to find a more substantial shoe to rotate into my trail running alongside the Saucony Peregrines. I used to use the Brooks Cascadia but recent versions have become too narrow in the toe box for my wide feet. This is my first Pearl Izumi running shoe but I was pleasantly surprised. The toe box is nice and roomy, the overall fit is snug and not sloppy, and the ride is soft yet responsive. My only complaint is that I have some heel slippage so it would have been nearly perfect for me if the heel cup was a little narrower.

Can I ask what size Cascadia's you wore (same issue with the Cascadias and I am curious to try the Izumis)

Happy Feet!

The Pearl Izumi Trail N2 v2 are awesome. The version 2 improved on the mesh that keeps my feet cool and comfortable and now the rubber outsole is sticky so it grips on any surface on the trail. I love these shoes for everything. Sooo comfortable
